The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has mandated new standards for full-size and non-full-size baby cribs as a result of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA). Effective June 2011, cribs manufactured, sold, or leased in the United States must comply with the new federal standards. Effective 24 months after the rule is published, child care facilities, such as family child care homes and infant Head Start centers, and places of public accomodation, such as hotels and motels, must have compliant cribs in their facilities. The mandatory crib standards will: 1) stop the manufacture and sale of dangerous, traditional drop-side cribs; 2) make mattress supports stronger; 3) make crib hardware more durable; and 4) make safety testing more rigorous. For more information see www.cpse.gov/info/cribs/index.html

Remember that spring/summer consignments are accepted until June 1. After that date, please hold them until February 1. The June 1 cutoff date allows those final consignments to be on the racks for a full 90 days.

Existing consigners may begin bringing fall/winter clothing items on July 1. First-time consigners begin fall/winter season on August 1.

The clearance rack was cleared and reloaded with gray tags on May 15. These are items that were placed on the racks in March. They are now half of their original price. Don’t miss a bargain! They go fast!
